Yamaha FJ's have never been designed to run on Radials tyres. The slim, 3" rims are designed for Crossply's. Yamaha has never tested them on the bike nor has any tyre manufacturer that happens to list a Radial option.  Crossplys have always been recommended by the club to fit all FJ models. Unfortunately most manufacturers are ceasing production of cossplys suitable for FJ's. Availability is limited because of this.

Avon Road Rider, 
No 16" front available. (Recommended for 3CV or 3XW)
 
Metzeler Laser-Tec, (can take a very long time for us to accquire from supplier) 
No 17" front available. (Recommended for 36Y or 1TX)
 
Bridgestone BT46, 
17" front is only H rated good for 130mph, Yamaha recommend a V rated tyre good for 150mph (Good choice if fitting one tyre and wish to have matching set)
